Yurt Maintenance

In order to keep you yurt clean and dry, it is very important to maintain your yurt well. Once a year you need to clean your outside cover and re-impregnate it with a waterproof material. You will have to look at the wood of your yurt and see of you need to treat it with some epoxy. We sell all products needed to clean and maintain your yurt.

Enzymes are a 100% organic liquid cleanser based on enzymes. It is a long-acting and safe cleaner for atmospheric pollution, algae and grease applicable on all exterior surfaces. The enzymes do the nature work for you. Enzymas is safe for plants and animals and is 100% biodegradable.

For the cleaning of your canvas we offer 2 types of products. One product is named “Power Cleaner”in association with “Shampoo Ultramar”, the other product is named “Reiniger Ultramar I” and “Reiniger Ultramar II”. Use those products for easy removal of dirt, green deposits of algae, fungi, rain streaks, bird droppings, flies and spiders spots, etc.

This waterproof impregnation for cotton, canvas and linen provides an extra protection for your tent, folding tent, army tent. This waterproof impregnation product is widely used by landlords safari tents. Many tent cloths are made of cotton or polyester/cotton. This canvas is very strong and allows ventilation and regulates moisture and temperature. A major drawback of this material is that it is more susceptible to mold. Over time, the fabric can go through leakage. Therefore it is wise to impregnate the cloth. The impregnation makes the fabric waterproof again and gives an extra protection against heavy weather and dirt. This product was specially developed for tents.

We never heard of a yurt taking fire, but there is always a risk. It’s not the thick rain cover or thick outside cover that presents a treat fire. The thin inside decoration cotton might however presents a risk. Inadvertent people might ignite a fire by mistake by placing a candle too close to the yurt walls. To limit those risks we offer a fire protection impregnation product that you can apply to your inside cotton.

This is an extra layer you can apply to your yurt in countries where it rains quite much. The “Polytex” extra layer is waterproof and extremely breathable. It is composed of hd-pe and polypropylene. We sell this prodicts in film rolls of 1500 mm x 50 m. Extra we sell the tape to scotch the “Polytex” extra layer.

Our epoxy two component resin is a product you apply on new wood or already affected wood, exposed to the action of moisture. This epoxy resin is so thin liquid that it easily penetrates the wood, especially if the wood is slightly porous, or if the wood is already damaged by moisture. Wood fibres and harmful microorganisms are completely encapsulated.
